MEET AMALIA

Photography is more than just a career for Amalia - it is a passion she has crafted, cultivated, and nurtured over decades working alongside some of New Zealand’s most talented creatives.

As a former Picture Director of New Zealand’s leading women’s magazines, Amalia has a refined ability to tell stories through images and capture those fleeting “magic moments.” A keen observer, storyteller, and self-proclaimed perfectionist, she has an instinctive understanding of her clients’ vision, and an ability to translate it into imagery that feels both meaningful and beautifully composed.

Growing up surrounded by the film and television industries, Amalia developed an early fascination with media and storytelling. Her first career in the film industry working in wardrobe gave her a strong foundation in visual detail, before she ultimately found her calling in photography - bringing together her love of weddings, fashion, portraiture, and all things beautifully made.

Her background extends beyond photography alone. Amalia also brings experience as a creative director, stylist, and picture editor, with a deep understanding of the entire production process - from mood boards and call sheets to location sourcing, direction, and the coordination of creative teams.

With an instinct for capturing the essence of a brief and a commitment to delivering imagery with warmth, emotion, and precision, Amalia creates work of the highest standard.
