Meet Amalia

Photography is more than just a career for Amalia - it’s a passion she’s crafted, cultivated and nurtured for decades working amongst New Zealand’s best and brightest creatives.

As a former picture director of New Zealand’s leading women’s magazines, Amalia has an unparalleled ability to tell a story through images and capture that ‘magic moment’. As a keen observer, storyteller and self-proclaimed perfectionist, Amalia is able to perfectly understand her client’s desires, and capture the moments that matter the most. 

Amalia grew up around the film and television industries thanks to wonderfully talented parents. Since then, she’s been fascinated with all aspects of media and the creative industries, which led to her first career working in wardrobe in the film industry. But it was when she combined her passions for weddings, fashion, portraiture and beautiful things that she truly found her calling - photography. 

Amalia’s background has not only taught her to take incredible images, she’s also a creative director, stylist and picture editor. She has experience will all facets of photoshoots, from mood boards, call sheet preparation, location sourcing, direction and the organisation and management of creative teams. 

With an innate ability to capture just the right vibe and feel of a brief, through to her determination to deliver excellent images with warmth, heart, emotion and feeling, Amalia’s images are of the highest standard.
